Financial Operations Controller

Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

 

The Financial Operations Controller will be responsible for the management of the financial and tax compliance processes across the business - PRSI, PAYE, VAT and Corporate Tax. The Financial Operations Controller must manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes of the business ensuring payments are paid and received as per schedule and processes. This person must also coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end processes.

Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Effectively manage, lead, coach, mentor and train a team of Finance personnel.

  • Implement and manage the Finance Strategy – Taxation, Legal and Statutory Compliance in line with the Company Values, Strategy & Operational Goals.

  • Manage a team of finance AR and AP professionals across multiple branch locations.

  • Lead and manage the Financial Operations; ensuring all Finance standards are maintained in line with all legislative requirements, regulations and compliance - PRSI, PAYE, VAT and Corporate Tax.

  • Conduct reconciliations, investigate any discrepancies and resolve any concerns in a timely manner.

  • Create and manage monthly/weekly reports - Provide meaningful management information and analysis and recommendations in support of the business operations and to reduce costs.

  • Coordinate and oversee the monthly management accounts reporting process including the analysis of related items of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement, budgets and cashflow.

  • Manage and improve key control processes to ensure their continued effectiveness in line with best practice. Ensure financial processes are appropriately documented and reviewed.

Essential Criteria:

  • ACA, ACCA, FCA or CPA Qualified.

  • Minimum 5+yrs working experience in taxation, legal and statutory compliance.

  • Minimum 5+yrs working experience in management accounts, budgets and cashflow.

  • Minimum 2+year experience in managing, training, coaching and mentoring a team of Finance professionals.

  • Strong Technical Accounting skillset.

  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) & Financial Management Systems and Packages.

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication and reporting skills.

  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.

Development Engineer

Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

 

The Development Engineer will work with a team supporting IT & Innovations activities across the Group. This position is responsible for the development, support and integration of database modules, mobile applications, and other IT projects. This role will implement the IT & Innovations Strategy in line with the Company Values, Strategy & Operational goals.

​

Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Develop and program new database modules and mobile applications to meet the needs of the business.

  • Work closely with all areas of the Group to identify areas where systems improvements can be made and implemented.

  • Program solutions that can be integrated into the current company databases.

  • Provide systems support to staff, both office based and remote.

  • Program solutions that can be integrated into the current company databases.

  • Identify and champion new technology or systems to improve Group systems and processes.

  • Talk staff through actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.

  • Maintain procedural documentation and reports.

​

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, SQL.

  • Knowledge with coding and programming languages.

  • Knowledge of IT systems integration.

  • Knowledge of mobile application or web app development.

  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload

  • Flexible, adaptable and can-do attitude to work.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – Written and Verbal .

  • Excellent problem solving, time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.

​

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Level 7 or above QQI qualification in a related IT field.

  • Range of IT courses at Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and/or Masters level.

  • Knowledge of coding languages, preferably Visual Basic and/or PowerFx.

  • Understanding or experience of UI/UX design.
